Common Starlings
(Sturnus vulgaris)

A very underrated bird in the UK that are conspicuous and widespread. Their plumage is black at a distance but up close they show beautiful sheens of purple and green. In the autumn they can often be seen in amazing murmuration displays as they arrive to roost in the UK.
