Common Kingfisher
(Alcedo atthis)

The UK's most beautiful and elusive bird of prey captured at the River Tees Barrage. Many hours of searching and many missed opportunities were definitely worth it for this selection of images. The following shots were taken with a Canon 1D Mk3 and 600mm f4 lens with 1.4x converter.
