Grey Squirrel
(Sciurus carolinensis)

Grey Squirrels are alien to the UK and were introduced in the late nineteenth/early twentieth century. Commonly seen in woodlands, hedgerows, parks, trees and gardens around the UK they have a lifespan of up to nine years. They feed on acorns, shoots, flowers, nuts, roots and cereals and bury surplus food below the soil or in tree hollows.
